Driven by a pure manual lever or an electric motor (foot pedal/continuous mode), the heated brass character mold presses down, instantly melting the high-temperature coating of the thermal ribbon and transferring it to the packaging material. 2. Pneumatic Inline Synchronized Printing (HP-241C): The coder is integrated into vertical or flow wrapping packaging machines. It receives photoelectric or cam signals from the main packaging machine and uses a pneumatic cylinder to press down, completing the coding synchronously during the intermittent movement of the packaging film. 3. Solid Ink Automatic Roller Printing (MY-380F): Utilizing photoelectric control and an automatic paging structure, a stack of unformed, flat packaging (empty boxes/labels) is placed in the feeding hopper. 3.1 By Capacity & Automation Requirements

  2. Thousands of prints/day, need to reduce fatigue: Choose the HP-241B (Electric Semi-Auto). Easily switch between foot pedal and continuous mode.
  3. Tens of thousands of empty boxes/bags/labels: Choose the MY-380F (Automatic Solid Ink Coder) for extremely fast offline coding at 300 pcs/min.
  4. Already own an automatic packaging machine and need inline printing: You must select the HP-241C (Pneumatic Synchronized).

3.2 By Packaging Material Status

  • Soft bags, boxes, or sheets already filled with product: Use DY-8 or HP-241B (place on the silicone pad of the base to code).
  • Completely flat empty paper boxes, single sheet labels, unsealed film bags: Highly recommended for the MY-380F for high-speed auto-paging. (Note: If the packaging is already filled/bulging or has an uneven surface, the MY-380F CANNOT be used.)
  • Continuous roll film (before cutting/forming): Suitable for HP-241C integrated onto a packaging machine.

IV. General Technical FAQ

4.1 Consumables & Print Quality

Q: Do these machines need liquid ink? Will the print smear? A: None of the series require liquid ink. The DY-8 and HP-241 series use thermal ribbons; the MY-380F uses solid ink rollers. Both use heat to melt and transfer the pigment, resulting in instant drying. You can rub it immediately after printing without smearing. Extremely clean and hygienic.

Q: What should I do if the print is too light or unclear? A: This usually happens for two reasons: 1. Insufficient temperature. Please turn up the temperature control knob (especially for the MY-380F, which MUST be preheated for 10-15 minutes to fully melt the ink roller). 2. The ribbon or ink roller is running out and needs to be replaced.

4.2 Character Molds & Typography

Q: Do the machines come with character molds? Can I print "EXP Date"? A: Both the DY-8 and HP-241B come standard with a box of universal brass characters (including multiple sets of 0-9, and letters like EXP/LOT/MFG), allowing you to easily spell out formats like "EXP 2025/12/31".

Q: Are the character molds interchangeable between different models? A: The standard brass characters for the DY-8 and HP-241 series (usually 2×3×15mm or 2×4×15mm) are interchangeable. However, the MY-380F uses a high-speed roller structure and requires specific T-type or R-type brass characters, which are NOT interchangeable with the others.

4.3 Replacement & Maintenance

Q: How long does a ribbon last? How can I save ribbon? A: A roll of ribbon can typically print thousands of times. The HP-241B/HP-241C models feature a "butterfly screw for spacing adjustment" on the side. You can finely tune the stepping distance after each print based on your font size to minimize ribbon waste.

Q: What are the daily wear parts for the MY-380F? A: Mainly the solid hot ink roller and the rubber transmission belts. It is highly recommended to purchase a few extra sets when buying the machine. Replacement is very simple.

VI. Standard Operating Procedure (Example: Semi-Automatic HP-241B)

  1. Setting the Type: Pull out the character mold head, use tweezers to arrange the required brass characters (e.g., EXP 25 10 12) into the slot, tighten the positioning screw, push the head back into the machine, and lock it.
  2. Threading the Ribbon: Follow the ribbon routing diagram on the side of the machine. Thread the entire roll of ribbon through the guide shafts and tension wheels, and attach the end to the waste ribbon collection spool.
  3. Power On & Preheat: Plug into a 220V/110V power source, turn on the heating switch, adjust the temperature knob to level 3-5 (depending on bag thickness), and wait 5-10 minutes for it to heat up.
  4. Parameter Debugging:

  7. Official Production: Place the material flat on the coding area. Depending on your proficiency, either use the "foot pedal" for single prints or switch to the "Auto" gear and feed materials continuously to the machine's rhythm.
  8. Shutdown & Maintenance: After production, turn off the heating switch and power. Wait for the character head to cool down completely before cleaning up any dust or debris around the machine.
