Sealing and coding in one pass — shorter line, lower equipment cost.

I. Product Overview

1. Product Category

  • Equipment Name: Continuous Band Sealer with Inkjet Printer / Inkjet Printing Sealing Machine
  • Model: PM-1800
  • Equipment Positioning: A continuous packaging machine that integrates sealing + coding in one pass. The conveyor continuously feeds pouches, and heat sealing and inkjet coding are completed synchronously in a single trip — completely eliminating the bulky traditional steel type blocks. Purpose-built for modern food, pharmaceutical, and daily-chemical soft-packaging lines.
  • Form Factor: Continuous Conveyor Type — simple and compact structure, small footprint, attractive appearance, and low power consumption.

2. Applications

  • Industries: Food, pharmaceutical, pesticide, daily-chemical / cosmetics, and chemical industries.
  • Applicable Products: Pre-filled soft-packaging bags of roasted nuts and seeds, tea leaves, traditional Chinese herbal medicine, food ingredients, seasoning powders, granules, and similar fills.
  • Applicable Bags: Aluminum-foil bags, kraft paper bags, and other heat-sealable soft packaging.
  • Production Scale: Ideal for small-to-medium batch multi-SKU runs and medium-to-large batch continuous assembly packaging.

3. Core Functions

  • Sealing + Coding in One Pass: The conveyor feeds pouches continuously — heat sealing and inkjet coding are completed in one pass, eliminating the need for a second pass-through or manual labeling.
  • Smart Inkjet with Touch-Screen Setting: A cartridge-nozzle inkjet system prints any content set freely on the touch screen — production dates, batch numbers, QR codes, barcodes, and graphics are all supported. No type blocks, no per-character loading and unloading.
  • Adjustable Printing Spacing: The print spacing between consecutive pouches is adjustable from 8 cm to 10 cm, adapting to different pouch lengths and styles.

II. Core Advantages

  • Digital Coding, Change Anytime: No steel type blocks, no ink-roller mess — print content is edited on the touch screen directly. Text and graphics alike are supported.
  • QR Code, Barcode & Graphics Support: Capable of inkjet-printing QR codes, barcodes, multi-line characters, and graphic logos, meeting the food-and-pharmaceutical one-product-one-code / full-process traceability requirement — something neither steel printing nor solid-ink rollers can achieve.
  • Free Fonts, Chinese & English: Built-in fonts include KaiTi, Arial, Microsoft YaHei and more, with dot-matrix and outline-style options. Chinese, English, digits, and symbols can all be printed (steel printing / solid-ink rollers typically support only digits and English letters).
  • Sealing + Coding in One Pass, Shorter Line: Heat sealing and inkjet coding are completed in one pass, replacing the traditional "band sealer + inkjet printer" two-machine setup — shorter line, smaller footprint, less equipment maintenance, and one less operator.
  • Cartridge Consumable, Easy Maintenance: The cartridge-nozzle design means simply swap the cartridge when ink runs low — no type-block adjustment, no manual ink dipping. Day-to-day maintenance cost is low.

IV. Operation & Workflow

1. Required Materials

  • Pouches to Seal: Pre-filled, ready-to-seal soft-packaging bags (aluminum-foil bags, kraft paper bags, etc.).
  • Power Supply: 110V / 220V mains.
  • Ink Cartridge: Installed and confirmed to have ink. When prints become faint, simply replace the cartridge — no type blocks required.

2. Standard Workflow

  1. Power On: Connect mains power and switch on the main power switch and the cooling-fan switch.
  2. Set Sealing Parameters: Switch on the heating switch. Set the temperature-controller value according to the film material and thickness, and adjust the conveyor belt to the appropriate speed.
  3. Install Ink Cartridge & Boot Up: Remove the cartridge's protective clip, insert the cartridge into the print-head slot at a 45° angle, and clip it firmly into place. Switch on the inkjet system screen.
  4. Edit Print Information: Edit the production date, expiration date, batch number, or call up a stored template on the touch screen. Confirm font size and number of lines.
  5. First-Piece Sample & Fine-Tuning: Feed a sample pouch for a trial run. Check: ① Seal strength and flatness; ② Print clarity and print position.
  6. Continuous High-Efficiency Operation: The operator places the pouches flat on the conveyor. The machine automatically performs: copper-block heat sealing → cooling & setting → inkjet coding → clean, smooth discharge.

3. Core Maintenance & Shutdown Specifications (⚠️ Critical to Prevent Nozzle Clogging and Heat-Damage Belt Failure)

  • 【Ink Cartridge Anti-Dry Protection (Extremely Important)】:
  • When the operation ends or is paused for over 15 minutes, the ink cartridge must be removed immediately and clipped back into its original sealed clip!
  • Never leave the cartridge exposed to air for an extended period, otherwise the print nozzle will dry out and crust over, causing broken lines or no ink output.
  • 【Band Sealer Proper Shutdown】:
  • First switch off the heating switch;
  • Keep the cooling fan and conveyor running idle for 3–5 minutes until the machine body has cooled below 100 °C, then switch off the main power.

V. Sales Tips & FAQ

Sales Tips

  • Lead With "Say Goodbye to Type-Block Hassle": Address the small-to-medium manufacturer pain point of "changing batches and dates is too troublesome" — emphasize that the touch screen lets the operator edit the print in 3 seconds, with zero mechanical wear.
  • Focus on "QR Codes & Compliance Traceability": For customers entering supermarkets, running e-commerce, or exporting who require barcodes and one-product-one-code compliance — lock in the PM-1800 directly (neither steel-print nor solid-ink models can deliver this).
  • Counter the "Sealer + Coder Two-Machine" Setup: For customers who originally planned to buy a band sealer plus a separate inkjet printer, tell them the PM-1800 does it all in one machine — saving one piece of equipment, one operator, and valuable production-line space.
  • Cartridge Consumables Drive Repeat Purchases: The cartridge is a long-term consumable. Suggest the customer add 1–2 spare cartridges to the initial order — they get smoother operation, and you get fewer remote after-sales calls.

FAQ

  • Q: What's the difference between the PM-1800 and the FR-900 / FR-1000?
  • A: The core difference lies in the coding technology. The FR-900 uses steel printing (physical metal indentation, no color); the FR-1000 uses solid-ink roller printing (black solid-ink text) — both require type blocks to be installed and replaced. The PM-1800, on the other hand, uses smart inkjet printing (cartridge-based inkjet). The print content is set directly on the touch screen, requires no type blocks, and can also print QR codes / barcodes / graphics.
  • Q: Can it print QR codes and barcodes?
  • A: Yes. The inkjet system supports QR codes, barcodes, and graphic logos, ideal for one-product-one-code, scan-to-trace, and e-commerce barcode scenarios. Neither steel-print nor solid-ink roller models can achieve this.
  • Q: How often does the ink cartridge need to be replaced? How do I replace it?
  • A: The cartridge is a normal consumable. The higher the print frequency, the faster it wears. The actual replacement interval depends on print clarity. When the ink runs low, simply replace the cartridge — no type-block adjustment or ink-circuit cleaning required. We recommend keeping 1–2 spare cartridges on hand.
